4.7 ★★★★★ 91 Google reviews · Climbing gym in Torrance, California
Large climbing gym featuring bouldering, top-roping and lead climbing areas.
Plan your visit
- Day pass around $15 — check current rates; most gyms price gear rental separately and discount off-peak
- Gear rental available — the gym mentions rentals; shoes typically run ~$5–8 and a harness is often bundled with a ropes pass
- Waiver always required at climbing gyms — sign it online before you go to skip the front-desk line
- Belaying ropes gyms teach belaying or check your certification at the desk; bouldering and auto-belays need no partner and no belay test
- First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems
- Kids programs classes, camps, or youth teams mentioned — check the current schedule
- Yoga & fitness mentioned alongside the climbing — ask about the class schedule and what a pass includes
- Ages 0–12 — the gym's own stated range
- Memberships available — worth asking about if you'd climb more than a few times a month

What climbers say again and again
“It is obviously much newer than the others so everything feels clean, including the crash mats and bathrooms.”

“I enjoyed most of the route setting but didn’t find many routes that really flowed, I’d happily put this down to being more used to euro route setters.”
“It was my first time trying climbing, and I genuinely enjoyed the activity itself.”
“It was also pretty quiet when I was there (4pm-6pm) so didn’t get much of a feel for what the climbing community is like in this gym.”
From the reviews
Class5 is the best climbing gym in the LAX area that can claim it cares about community-building and actually mean it. A true members-driven gym that doesn't rely on a constant parade of overpriced weekend birthday parties and youth programs to stay in the black, so that members have full access to climbing spaces…
Really interesting experience at Class 5 today. It’s a MASSIVE space though I typically climb in Australia / the UK so it might just feel big for me. It’s super well equipped, there’s a sauna in the bathroom and great showers and lockers. The staff were friendly and helpful.
This is the best gym I went to here in California. I was on a road trip with my family and we stopped at class five to get in a session and it was great. We took a top rope test and than bouldered.
Huge bouldering space! Definitely my new favorite gym in socal. Big parking lot shared with nearby businesses. Has feet washing stations and free towels, shower stalls, lockers and a workout area with some machines. Grading seems reasonable and on par with surrounding gyms.
