Plan your visit
- Day pass around $3 — check current rates; most gyms price gear rental separately and discount off-peak
- Gear rental nearly every climbing gym rents shoes (~$5–8 typical) and chalk; harness rental is often bundled with a ropes pass
- Waiver always required at climbing gyms — sign it online before you go to skip the front-desk line
- Belaying ropes gyms teach belaying or check your certification at the desk; bouldering and auto-belays need no partner and no belay test
- First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems
- Auto-belays mentioned here — clip in and climb ropes solo, no partner needed
- Yoga & fitness mentioned alongside the climbing — ask about the class schedule and what a pass includes
- Memberships available — worth asking about if you'd climb more than a few times a month

From the reviews
This gym has definitely improved over the last three years. It continues to provide challenging and creative routes at a competitive monthly price. Also nice that there's no initiation fee or charge for freezing your membership. They also have tons of locations so you'll never run out of problems.
My son used to be a very shy scrawny little boy who hated exercise. He wouldn’t play sports, I forced him into taking karate since he wouldn’t go near any kind of team sports because he wasn’t confident and hated the feeling of responsibility if he made a bad play.
Review for April 2024: I've been here three times so far, and unfortunately, it's the only Hangar that I have been to that will receive 4 stars. Mostly because the holds for the routes here feel really janky and old. The overall experience of rock climbing is still here.
I absolutely love this climbing gym. It has been the only gym I’ve been to in LA that has a genuine community that is welcoming and friendly. The staff have always been so warm since my first day of climbing.
