From the reviews
Walking right in the door it felt quite homey. All the staff were immediately friendly. Not in the "My manager makes me" being nice to me type, more the "I'm happy to be here" type of kind. Very competent staff as well, I was given a top notch crash course in bouldering by a great group of staff and patrons.
First of all, amazing location! I live in Seattle and I wanted to change things a little bit so decided to take the ferry and do something new for both me and my sister (since she's visiting) and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! Upon or arrival there we found a very clean, spacious and fun gym.
Good prices. Helpful and attentive staff. Very nice facility. Routes seemed to be rated a little differently than most gyms I've been to, but still very well designed. They have a decent bouldering area, lots of top rope with grigri belays and even a few auto-belay routes. Wanna lead rope? They have that too.
Love visiting Insight whenever I'm on Bainbridge Island. It's a great small-ish town gym with a high quality variety of top rope, lead, and bouldering climbs. They also have 5 auto-belays. There is a small gym area with racks, benches, weights, and cardio machines.
Birthday parties at Insight Climbing & Movement
Insight Climbing & Movement hosts birthday parties — confirmed on their own site. Climbing parties come with staff who handle the harnesses and belaying, so parents can mostly watch. One thing that's different here: every guest needs a signed waiver — send the gym's waiver link to the other parents when you send invites, or check-in day gets slow. Packages, party rooms, and pricing change often, so check the current options and book ahead — weekend slots go fast at popular gyms.
Kids classes & camps at Insight Climbing & Movement
Reviews and the gym's own info mention kids programs at Insight Climbing & Movement — climbing classes, school-break camps, or a youth team where kids learn technique from coaches instead of just scrambling around. Program schedules and age groups change each season, so check the current lineup before you plan around one.
