Edgeworks Climbing Seattle

4.6 ★★★★★ 615 Google reviews · Climbing gym in Seattle, Washington

Kids classes & camps

Huge rock-climbing center with a weight room & various courses emphasizing bouldering & top roping.

Plan your visit

  • Gear rental nearly every climbing gym rents shoes (~$5–8 typical) and chalk; harness rental is often bundled with a ropes pass
  • Waiver always required at climbing gyms — sign it online before you go to skip the front-desk line
  • Belaying ropes gyms teach belaying or check your certification at the desk; bouldering and auto-belays need no partner and no belay test
  • First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems
  • Kids programs classes, camps, or youth teams mentioned — check the current schedule
  • Memberships available — worth asking about if you'd climb more than a few times a month

From the reviews

Of the 4 climbing gyms I've checked out in Seattle thus far (Momentum SODO, SBP Poplar, Vertical World, Edgeworks Ballard), Edgeworks has been my favorite. I haven't had the chance to rope up here yet so I can't comment on that, but the boulder setting here is EXCELLENT- more thoughtful setting that focuses on…

This is not the largest climbing gym in Seattle, yet it literally has everything: vertical, slab, overhang, roof, arete, dihedral, crack, top-rope, lead, and even an outdoor wall! You name it, they have it - I truly appreciate that they have such a diverse collection of terrains.

Stopped here for a climbing session. This is my first time at this branch hence all the problems were new. I climb at the V3-V5 range so worked on a bunch of problems. The problems were pretty good and the staff was super nice and helpful. Did not check their gym so cannot say but they don't have much slabs.

I brought our 10 year old for some climbing. We were treated great by the staff & the person who was belaying for us (forgot their name) was a total pro- he gave just the right amount of feedback & encouragement to help my child succeed & feel great. We will be back for sure.
