Spacious climbing gym that features top-roping (sometimes with auto belays), lead and sport climbing.
Plan your visit
- Gear rental nearly every climbing gym rents shoes (~$5–8 typical) and chalk; harness rental is often bundled with a ropes pass
- Waiver always required at climbing gyms — sign it online before you go to skip the front-desk line
- Belaying ropes gyms teach belaying or check your certification at the desk; bouldering and auto-belays need no partner and no belay test
- First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems
- Kids programs classes, camps, or youth teams mentioned — check the current schedule

“Everyone visiting that day seemed to be well versed climbers or just the community having a fun time- exactly what a top rope/ sport/ bouldering gym should be!”
“There is also a decent amount of lead climbing set up, too and, of course, bouldering.”
“It’s a gem and the route setting is usually very thoughtful and creative, with a good mix of grades and TR vs sport, as well as bouldering, and auto-belays even!”

From the reviews
Just visiting Lacey for a couple days. Fun climbing gym near Black Hills gymnastics. Ample bouldering and TopRope areas. Plus they had 6 auto belays with 3 routes each. Nice workout area and clean bathrooms and shower area. Definitely recommend.
Recently moved over to yelm, and cirque is now the closest gym to me, I frequented climb tacoma before I moved. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and people are very friendly and will help you with problems that you get stuck on. There is plenty of top roping at this gym with lots of variety in routes.
Always a great experience here. The staff are very patient and helpful and provide as much support as you ask for. Lots of options for all skill levels. We are very new to climbing and we are a family of introverts. Found a new love.
Great routes and fair grades. It’s always a balance for route setters to legit set a standard that everyone is happy with in climbing. However Cirque does an excellent job providing easy, moderate, and challenging climbing on all sections from TR to bouldering with the auto belay stations too.
Kids classes & camps at Cirque Climbing
Reviews and the gym's own info mention kids programs at Cirque Climbing — climbing classes, school-break camps, or a youth team where kids learn technique from coaches instead of just scrambling around. Program schedules and age groups change each season, so check the current lineup before you plan around one.
