- First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems

From the reviews
Very nice YMCA. To start they have four very large locker rooms, two of which are considered family. The upstairs locker rooms (for adults) have a steam room and sauna. Also on the second floor is a fitness room with machines and a separate room for cardiovascular equipment.
Love love love the new workout area and equipment! Long overdue. The new area will obviously attract more people and limit parking, but Im fine with that. Seeing happy families, active adults and kids engaging healthy activity is best part of the Y.
I love the brand new building with expanded gym and aquatic center. Yesterday I was working out there for the first time. The equipment is so much better and there were so many beautiful people working out. I felt inspired and I can’t wait to go to the new aquatic area.
Wanted to experience newYMCA in Tacoma. Locker rooms are smaller than expected and experience depend on if kids are supervised because i noticed parents let their kids run amuck. Decent size and would come back if staff enforced behavior expectations for parents/children alike like at other YMCAs
