Climbing gyms in Austin

Austin's climbing scene matches the city: young, social, and growing fast. Bouldering Project's Springdale gym is the community hub, Crux runs the homegrown full-service end with two locations, and even the Life Time fitness clubs here have real walls. Summer flips the schedule — 100-degree afternoons are gym afternoons, and Barton Creek greenbelt climbers keep training indoors through August.

What local climbers say

First impression: there is a lot of slab in this gym. I've never seen a gym with this much slab. The gym is like 65% slab. There is not much overhang, but there's a nice cave. There are at least two top out boulders. Built very fancy, like the other Boulder Projects, but this one felt a little dirty.

The gym itself and classes are amazing! Staff is always helpful! Facilities are clean. The only thing that is falling behind is their cafe where hot meals are completely bland, no flavor whatsoever, and overpriced. The pre-made meals sold in the fridge have 1000 ingredients you can't pronounce, it's not healthy.

Swimming, weight training, pickleball, basketball. The staff are very friendly. The group exercise program is excellent. It's good for exercising because it takes care of kids. It's so good for kids to play in the pool. The sauna and spa facilities are great. Above all, the trainers are very good
