From the reviews
Had a good time here with the kids. Very different from the other Rick climbing gyms we've been to. You need to be certified to belay.
This is a fantastic gym. We traveled here from out of town to tryout a different gym and VA did not disappoint. We did think that there were going to be more auto belay climbs (maybe 4?), but having a good bouldering area upstairs and on the base floor more than made up for it.
It’s a very good climbing gym. They use GriGris that are attached to the rope. The rental harnesses are actually decent Petzl brand ones. The shoes are regular Evolv gym shoes. The bathrooms are small. The lighting is good here and it has a good atmosphere feeling.
I first saw photos of Jarad's guided climbing experiences years ago, and was so excited to join him on a trip recently in Joshua Tree National Park. I've known Jarad Stiles since we attended high school near Lake Tahoe together.
Birthday parties at Vertical Adventures
Vertical Adventures hosts birthday parties — confirmed on their own site. Climbing parties come with staff who handle the harnesses and belaying, so parents can mostly watch. One thing that's different here: every guest needs a signed waiver — send the gym's waiver link to the other parents when you send invites, or check-in day gets slow. Packages, party rooms, and pricing change often, so check the current options and book ahead — weekend slots go fast at popular gyms.
Kids classes & camps at Vertical Adventures
Reviews and the gym's own info mention kids programs at Vertical Adventures — climbing classes, school-break camps, or a youth team where kids learn technique from coaches instead of just scrambling around. Program schedules and age groups change each season, so check the current lineup before you plan around one.
