Plan your visit
- Day pass around $10 — check current rates; most gyms price gear rental separately and discount off-peak
- Gear rental nearly every climbing gym rents shoes (~$5–8 typical) and chalk; harness rental is often bundled with a ropes pass
- Waiver always required at climbing gyms — sign it online before you go to skip the front-desk line
- Belaying ropes gyms teach belaying or check your certification at the desk; bouldering and auto-belays need no partner and no belay test
- First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems
- Kids programs classes, camps, or youth teams mentioned — check the current schedule
- Yoga & fitness mentioned alongside the climbing — ask about the class schedule and what a pass includes
- Memberships available — worth asking about if you'd climb more than a few times a month

From the reviews
Always feels like coming home stepping into this gym. Of course, it's proximal to literally everything wonderful (coffee, food, kombucha, books, etc.) in downtown Asheville, but it also has great bouldering and a solid climbing community that warmly welcomes newcomers.
Took kids and if you are a beginner you can totally jump right in here. They have color coded "paths" to help out. There were plenty of people who looked way more advanced and serious than us who had plenty of challenging areas to tackle too. Seemed great for all skill levels.
Great gym, great experience. Stuart from the staff was super nice, informative and helpful. Safety rules are properly followed and rates are super accessible to make it possible for the climbers to train without draining your pocket. Lots of parking space in the building.
First I must apologize as this review is suuuuper delayed - I was making recommendations for a friend visiting NC and when I pulled up Stuart's information to pass along, I realized I had never written this good man a well-deserved review! Better late than never?!
