What climbers say again and again
“I also love how clean and thoughtful the space is - there are multiple rooms and toys for kids to explore.”
“One of my significant issues with these kid party places is you feel like you need a bath in Purell after.”
“We also threw a birthday party there recently and everyone -- our family, daughter, the other kids in attendance -- all agreed it was a great time.”
“The kids had so much fun, the staff was very helpful and all adults could enjoy themselves while still being close to the kids.”
“The parents actually got to hang out with each other because the venue was so safe and contained that they didn’t have to worry about their kids getting hurt or lost.”
From the reviews
Would honestly love to gate keep this absolute gem of a place but here we are. Space: immaculate. Several rooms for quieter play (kitchen and sensory space), massive gym area for zoomies, swings that change out, a climbing area, and a large quiet area on the other side.
We celebrated our son’s birthday last weekend, and we had an amazing time! I really want to specifically mention how terrific that staff was- they were so responsive and set up, cleaned up, distributed pizza and cupcakes and generally were just on it.
A diamond in the (Gowanus) rough. Nestled into an office space building, Playwell is a bright, clean, welcoming SUPER FUN space. Zip line, anyone? They give focus to inclusion and acceptance which means that this mama got to use the swings!!!!
Our daughter loves this place- clean, enriching, warm environment perfect for kids. The staff are attentive and kind. Really special place! The yearly membership is worth it!
Birthday parties at PlayWell Brooklyn
PlayWell Brooklyn hosts birthday parties — confirmed on their own site. Climbing parties come with staff who handle the harnesses and belaying, so parents can mostly watch. One thing that's different here: every guest needs a signed waiver — send the gym's waiver link to the other parents when you send invites, or check-in day gets slow. Packages, party rooms, and pricing change often, so check the current options and book ahead — weekend slots go fast at popular gyms.
Kids classes & camps at PlayWell Brooklyn
Reviews and the gym's own info mention kids programs at PlayWell Brooklyn — climbing classes, school-break camps, or a youth team where kids learn technique from coaches instead of just scrambling around. Program schedules and age groups change each season, so check the current lineup before you plan around one.
Adaptive climbing
PlayWell Brooklyn is mentioned for adaptive climbing or paraclimbing — sessions, equipment, or coaching that make the walls climbable for people with disabilities. Offerings like this vary a lot gym to gym and schedules change, so call ahead to ask what's available and when the next session runs.
