Pay-as-you-can charity fitness center featuring rock climbing walls, plus classes and events.

Plan your visit

  • Gear rental nearly every climbing gym rents shoes (~$5–8 typical) and chalk; harness rental is often bundled with a ropes pass
  • Waiver always required at climbing gyms — sign it online before you go to skip the front-desk line
  • Belaying ropes gyms teach belaying or check your certification at the desk; bouldering and auto-belays need no partner and no belay test
  • First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems
  • Kids programs classes, camps, or youth teams mentioned — check the current schedule
  • Yoga & fitness mentioned alongside the climbing — ask about the class schedule and what a pass includes
  • Ages families visit with kids 4–10, going by reviews
  • Memberships available — worth asking about if you'd climb more than a few times a month

From the reviews

A professional mountain climbing club in middle of the city. They charge minimal fees. Even if you are not willing to pay they will allow you to enter and use the facility. Idea is giving the community and in return they expect us to give our time to community. Not only monetary means.

We very much enjoyed climbing at Memphis Rox during our anniversary trip to Memphis. Great sets with lots of variety. They have an extensive bouldering area as well as top rope. The orientation was thorough, but not long. And they offer belay classes if you aren’t already familiar with the process. We will be back!

The atmosphere is always amazing here. It's a beautiful organization with incredibly down to earth staff. A couple of years later... I love it even more than day 1. Having gotten to know the staff, they are family at this point! I highly highly suggest joining in the fun here!

Such an awesome place! My 10 year old is hooked! The staff are all friendly and helpful. Great vibes and so many different routes to climb. (Picture only shows about half). They have a great free climbing/ bouldering area as well!
