From the reviews
Absolutely love this place. Hands down one of the best gyms around. The mix of bouldering, yoga, and workout space is unreal, and we’re here several times a week. The routes are always fresh and fun, so it never gets old. The owners and staff are top-notch—welcoming, passionate, and clearly invested in the community.
Genuinely what I have been looking for in terms of indoor bouldering in Knoxville. Staff was really nice and even showed off their training room with full size boards and a custom crack climbing training wall. Best part is that the monthly memberships rival (and beat imo) the local gyms.
I came here with my 6 year old son and we both had a blast! Ian and the other staff were super friendly and showed us around the whole facility before giving us free rein.
My partner and I visited from out of town (SW VA), and had such a fantastic time. The setting felt intentional, varied, and most importantly fun. Our home gym is very old school, and while we love it, we enjoyed getting to play on modern problems with fun dynamic movement, super rad balanc-y slabs, and problems where…
Birthday parties at Climbing Roots
Climbing Roots hosts birthday parties — confirmed on their own site. Climbing parties come with staff who handle the harnesses and belaying, so parents can mostly watch. One thing that's different here: every guest needs a signed waiver — send the gym's waiver link to the other parents when you send invites, or check-in day gets slow. Packages, party rooms, and pricing change often, so check the current options and book ahead — weekend slots go fast at popular gyms.
Kids classes & camps at Climbing Roots
Reviews and the gym's own info mention kids programs at Climbing Roots — climbing classes, school-break camps, or a youth team where kids learn technique from coaches instead of just scrambling around. Program schedules and age groups change each season, so check the current lineup before you plan around one.
