Climbing gyms in Brooklyn

Brooklyn is bouldering country: VITAL's Williamsburg rooftop gym, Movement Gowanus, Bouldering Project Gowanus, and MetroRock Bushwick all pack serious walls into converted industrial space. It's a strong-scene borough — expect good setting, crowded weeknights, and a community that treats the gym as a third place. Most spots rent everything, so first-timers can walk in with sneakers and leave hooked.

What local climbers say

If you love bouldering then this is the gym for you! I was told by all my climbing friends over the years that this was one of the must visit gyms and they were not kidding! It’s amazing. It’s modern, clean and spacious for a city gym!

This place is amazing. First time me and my wife got into climbing. This facility is CLEAN. And it’s 3 floors of usable space. 1st floor has front desk, climb shop, bouldering, top rope training room and two couches for people to relax on.

The Bouldering Project offers an impressive range of activities for all ages, including bouldering, yoga, High-Intensity Training (HIT), weight training, cold plunge, and co-working space. I initially joined for the yoga classes and it’s great that the membership comes with additional offerings.
