Which Climbing Gym Chain Do Climbers Rate Highest? (2026)
The big chains publish wall square-footage, not report cards. We built the report card: for every US climbing-gym chain with at least 10 locations in our directory, here's the average Google rating across all its gyms — 103 locations and 36,131 climber reviews in one table. One caveat up front: these are averages of location-level ratings, a read on how climbers rate the gyms themselves, not an official corporate score.
The chain league table
Central Rock Gym takes the crown at 4.73★ averaged across 29 locations — remarkable consistency at that scale. Every chain on this table clears 4.5★, which says something about the industry: big climbing brands are, by their own customers' account, running good gyms.
