If you like hiking rocks, boulders, and hiking on ancient rock, this area is it. There is pre-cam-bri-an rock along the AT heading south in areas for about 15 miles. It is a beautiful day hike.. level of difficulty to me is a 6 out of 10. It is up and down, but oh, so beautiful. P.S. this is the original AT.
Great moderate hike to the top. A little rocky, so it's fun, but nothing crazy, so it's still nice for younger hikers. Hike to top is not super long. First overlook (large rock formation) you come to I the higher one.
Great local hike. I hike it multiple times per year and it changes nicely with the seasons. Follow it to Center Point Knob to say you have been to the former mid-point of the Appalachian Trail.
