USA Rec center is one of the best recreational and gym facilities in Mobile. It is open to all students, staff, faculty in USA and general public (may have to purchase a membership). Inside you will find treadmill, weight lifting and other gym equipments.
I've only recently started using the Rec Center as an employee of USA. I was surprised by how big and well-stocked the center is. This place seems to have just about everything you would need for a well-rounded workout.
Used it a lot during my time as an undergrad and quickly signed up for the alumni membership after I graduated as there is no gym in Mobile that comes close to the cleanliness and amenities that South offers. Plus, since it's exclusive to students and alumni only, I feel a bit safer working out here.
This is a great facility. We were actually there for a racket ball tournament. I took the time to go through the different areas and was amazed at the size of each area and the condition or equipment. In addition, the basketball courts are large and open. The restrooms are large and clean.
