Plan your visit

  • Day pass around $40 — check current rates; most gyms price gear rental separately and discount off-peak
  • Gear rental nearly every climbing gym rents shoes (~$5–8 typical) and chalk; harness rental is often bundled with a ropes pass
  • Waiver always required at climbing gyms — sign it online before you go to skip the front-desk line
  • First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems
  • Auto-belays mentioned here — clip in and climb ropes solo, no partner needed
  • Yoga & fitness mentioned alongside the climbing — ask about the class schedule and what a pass includes
  • Memberships available — worth asking about if you'd climb more than a few times a month

From the reviews

The rec center has awesome and well maintained equipment. The staff is friendly and straightforward and always willing to help. The experience has been exemplary, and I love coming here. Always lock your locker, doesn’t matter if you’re in there for ten seconds, ten minutes, or ten hours.

Wonderful place for a our visit to this area. we are on a roadtrip and having access to a gym helps us. Typical entry cost and its good for an entire day. Swim, lift and indoor track plus classes. i took the step class and wow it was advanced but the people were very encouraging and supportive.

Glenwood Springs Community Center hosts birthday parties, going by their listing and visitor reviews. Climbing parties come with staff who handle the harnesses and belaying, so parents can mostly watch. One thing that's different here: every guest needs a signed waiver — send the gym's waiver link to the other parents when you send invites, or check-in day gets slow. Packages, party rooms, and pricing change often, so check the current options and book ahead — weekend slots go fast at popular gyms.
