Plan your visit

  • Day pass around $35 — check current rates; most gyms price gear rental separately and discount off-peak
  • Gear rental nearly every climbing gym rents shoes (~$5–8 typical) and chalk; harness rental is often bundled with a ropes pass
  • Waiver always required at climbing gyms — sign it online before you go to skip the front-desk line
  • First timer? bouldering needs zero experience — rent shoes and walk in; staff will point you at the easiest problems
  • Kids programs classes, camps, or youth teams mentioned — check the current schedule
  • Yoga & fitness mentioned alongside the climbing — ask about the class schedule and what a pass includes
  • Memberships available — worth asking about if you'd climb more than a few times a month

From the reviews

I am a member since it was just a project, I was not very happy with the transition from BKB to Bouldering Project but things are settled now. The staff is just amazing. I climb with my 6y and my 10y, they always enjoy themselves and have done the camps.

Great bouldering spot in DC proper! Staff members are super friendly, relatively clean facilities, and routes are reset very regularly. Variety of community events hosted throughout the month, which makes this place a wonderful third space.

Bouldering Project Eckington is an amazing gym. The long wall called The Beast was a challenge and highlight of my visit. Great variety of routes, friendly staff, and a strong community vibe.

★★★★★ — Silvia, Sep 2025

I can only speak of the bouldering parts of this gym and not the yoga parts. I came in as a one-time visitor and thought that a $35 day pass was very steep, even though they included free rentals for me as a first-time visitor.
